Name: Garnet Teresa Espinoza.
Age: 17.
Sex: Female.
Sexuality: Bisexual.
Occupation: Pokémon Trainer.
Hometown: Celestic Town, Sinnoh.
Character Type: Original.
Physical Appearance: Garnet was named after the short wisps of deep red hair that covered her head when she was born. Naturally, they have grown out into flowing locks that have been cut rather choppily at the middle of her neck and have been angled upward from there. She always looks as if she is in desperate need of a haircut, as her bangs often fall in front of her hazel eyes, not to mention those nasty split ends. Her complexion is paler than most, but it isn't ghostly-white. She stands at about five-foot-six and has a decent amount of meat on her bones, perhaps a bit more near her tummy area than she should have.
On top of her solid, heather gray t-shirt is a high-collared, red-orange sweat jacket with white stripes running down the tops of the shoulders and the sleeves. Light-colored jeans fall from the checkered belt where her PokéBalls are clipped to underneath her used-to-be-white sneakers. Solid black biking gloves are also bound to her hands. (She says that she wears them just in case she saves up enough money for a bicycle.) A yellow messenger bag containing who-knows-what hangs loosely from her left shoulder. In her earlobes are four small, silvery hoops, two being pierced in each.
Personality: Garnet, though she can be laid back, is usually very serious, especially for someone her age. She bases all of her decisions on reason, and not just in-battle either. Because of this, she is good at hiding her emotions, or, at least, her "illogical" feelings. Secretly, she is waiting for someone to break the hold she has on herself so she can let herself go and know that someone will be there to help her get back up. No one has filled this role yet, however, so until then, she will remain as stern as ever.
Pokémon: Emi the Ninetales. (Profiles and other Pokémon coming soon.)
History: Garnet Teresa Espinoza was born to Teresa Espinoza in Celestic Town, Sinnoh, two months after her father, whose name Garnet never learned, moved out to find a new life for himself. He claimed he would come back, but he never did, and at that point, neither Garnet nor Teresa wanted him back. Teresa was in her mid-thirties when she had her only child, but five wonderful birthdays later, she began to find her body becoming weaker and weaker. She went to see numerous doctors, all of whom said they had no idea what was wrong with her. With her body in so much pain, she had to leave her job as a Contest manager and go on disability retirement. Garnet was ten.
Three years later, Garnet's desire to become a Pokémon Trainer and meet the Elite Four Champion, Celestic Town's own Cynthia, caught on fire, and the flame only grew wilder as time went on. She would beg her mother to help her find a Pokémon, but Teresa, barely strong enough to get out of bed, had to refuse. The pleading went on for two years until, one fine day, Teresa heard that Professor Rowan, Sinnoh's lead expert in Pokémon evolution, was going to visit Celestic Town for a conference. Somehow finding the strength to get out of bed, she went to the gathering and told him her story. He handed the woman a PokéBall without hesitation. Garnet was fifteen when she received her first Pokémon, a spunky, female Vulpix she named Emi.
Two weeks after that was her sixteenth birthday. It was that day that Teresa allowed Garnet to go and fulfill her dreams, but on one condition: she was to visit every doctor she came across and ask him or her to help decipher Teresa's mysterious condition. Garnet immediately agreed, and the day she turned sixteen, she started on her very own adventure, Emi obediently at her side.
Since then, Emi has evolved into a gorgeous Ninetales, and the two have grown inseparable. While she hasn't found anyone to help her mother, Garnet is still searching desperately for answers and, hopefully, a cure. She hasn't forgotten about her own dreams, though, and she is still training hard, preparing herself for battle with the beautiful Cynthia of the Elite Four.
Miscellaneous: Garnet has a crush on the Sinnoh Elite Four Champion, Cynthia. She admires her in every way, not to mention the fact that she's a rather fine-looking lady.
Garnet has bad luck. While huge, horrible things don't usually happen to her, there are several small, annoying occurrences, such as her losing or breaking recently-bought items, that take place daily.
Garnet is an asthmatic. She also bites her nails.
She and her "rival," Jasper Quigley, are close, childhood friends.
