Hello, and welcome to Daydreams! I'm your friendly administrator, Blessed Vixen. Feel free to contact me if you encounter any problems throughout the site or if you have any questions!
If you couldn't tell by the Ninetales, the PokéBall, or the site name, this is a board dedicated to Pokémon roleplay. It was created on December 25, 2009 by yours truly. If you've somehow stumbled upon here without my begging you to, I thank you so much for taking an interest in this site. (After all, if you didn't, you wouldn't be reading these rules, right?)
Before you begin posting, it is required that you read this and the other threads housed in this board. The following rules concern general etiquette, or how you should act as a whole on this site.
• Respect the other members and staff of Daydreams in addition to the board itself. This means no trolling, flaming, or spamming in addition to other negative forum behaviors. If you cannot be a part of this site and not do any of these things, needless to say, you won't be a part of the site anymore.
• In general, try to keep things PG-13. Keep cursing and suggestive talk to a minimum. If you know a topic is going to evolve into something more mature, label it and/or warn readers in the first post.
• If you want to join, you should know at least the basics of the Pokémon universe. There isn't going to be a mandatory quiz you have to take or anything though; just use your own judgment on this one.
• You may advertise your websites or roleplays in your signature or in "Chat" under "General Chatter" only. advertising anywhere else is not allowed. If you do so, it will be considered spam.
- If you want to become an affiliate, PM me.
• Plagiarism, or taking credit for something you didn't create, is not allowed. This will not only be considered spam, it'll get you in a helluva lot more trouble than you want to be in.
• Multiple accounts are unnecessary and a nuisance. This isn't the type of board where you need one account per character or something. If you're found to have more than one account, all of them minus the original will be deleted. If you keep making duplicate accounts for yourself, you will be banned.
- If you keep making accounts because you want a different username, go the Profile/Modify Profile/Display Name. Done and done.
• Even out-of-character, be literate. Type properly. (That means no chatspeak, save for the occasional "lol" or "omg.") Use correct grammar/punctuation. Spell things the way they're supposed to be spelled. Use spell check if you need to. Dictionaries and thesauri are your friends. A slip-up every now and then is fine, but if you can't type a proper sentence, you will be asked to leave until you can figure out how to do so.
• A rule of thumb is that, if something happens outside of Daydreams, leave it outside of Daydreams. It's okay to talk about what's going in real life... to an extent. If what you want to post is something that you think/know will make the general public uncomfortable don't post it for the world to see.
- This also applies to relationships between members. If you get into a fight with another member or staff, don't bring it into the community. If you wind up developing a romantic relationship with another member or staff, congratulations, but don't treat them any differently on here. Try not to be super-mushy-gushy-goo either; it makes some people uncomfortable.
• Try your best not to double-post. Edit your posts instead.
- Exceptions to this rule include if you're updating your character threads or fan work threads or if you're posting up roleplay information. In general though, don't do it.
• I, Blessed Vixen, have the right to update these rules at any time.
